Recently SBCS and our partners welcomed U.S. Senator Alex Padilla to learn about the successes of our two community-transforming Promise Neighborhood programs. Our region stands out nationally as one of only two counties with more than one Promise Neighborhood. Both the San Diego and Chula Vista Promise Neighborhoods boast robust networks of coordinated community services and demonstrate positive program outcomes year after year, making a difference in the lives of generations within their communities.

Senator Padilla heard from SBCS, many of our partners, and young people who had been a part of the Promise Neighborhood programs. The youth spoke first-hand about the unique supports and opportunities youth experience growing up with cradle-to-career wrap-around services available at every life stage for them and their families.

It was an honor to stand with our partners and our community to show our national leadership the transformation that is made possible when we work together and invest in strengthening communities.
