In 1971, our organization began its work as “Our House” — a drop-in center in the City of Chula Vista providing counseling and rehabilitation for teens struggling with drug abuse.

Staff Throughout the Region

We have over 500 dedicated staff working throughout the region, including schools, police departments, family resource centers and affordable housing locations. Our team is 100% fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Our main location is in the heart of the City of Chula Vista.

Of area residents live in poverty

16% of area residents (and 1 in 5 children) live in poverty. We believe our community is dependent on the health and well-being of all, which is why we work to provide food, shelter and health services throughout the region.

SBCS transforms communities to support the well-being and prosperity of children, youth and families in San Diego County.
