Honoring and supporting the LGBTQ+ community remains critically important as we make significant strides toward equity and justice together. Pride Month celebrations are taking on virtual forms this year and promise to inspire empowerment and awareness.

SBCS’ Our Safe Place team will hold virtual Pride gatherings and workshops for LGBTQ+ youth up to age 21 and their families during June and July. This year’s theme is “Together We Rise!”

These virtual Pride events are happening June 22 – July 17, 2020:

• Week 1: Agency Pride Parade  (Pride programs, agency highlights)
• Week 2: LGB (opportunity to learn about identity, relationships and pop culture)
• Week 3: Trans Pride and Black Lives Matter (history, healing and trivia)
• Week 4: Festival and Celebration (games, resources highlighting LGBTQ+ services, open mics, a DJ session)

Our Safe Place is a collaborative program with San Diego Youth Services and the YMCA of San Diego County, and is funded by the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency.
