October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. October 19th, the San Ysidro Domestic Violence Prevention Collaborative hosted an educational event at the San Ysidro Library, which was covered by Telemundo 20. You can see the story, including an interview with our own Jose Mireles, Program Manager, on the Telemundo20 website.
SBCS staff and programs such as Mi Escuelita and domestic violence shelter and related services work within the Collaborative to prevent and address domestic violence. Wednesday’s event was attended by regional organizations that partner with us in this work as well as community members. We heard from survivors of domestic violence and leaders working to address domestic violence in our communities.
