Career & Technical Education Programs

Learn and Earn to Achieve Potential (LEAP)

Serving youth county-wide, LEAP is a secondary bridging program which provides youth with 6 – 8 weeks of academic skill remediation, work readiness and life skill development as well as college and career exploration and preparation. Following the bridging courses, youth then receive support as they transition into their first year of post-secondary training/education.

MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Between the ages of 16 – 25
  • Involved in foster or juvenile justice systems, are experiencing homelessness, or are residents in transitional housing units

PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE:

  • One-on-one support
  • 40 hour paid internship
  • College/University enrollment assistance
  • College tours
  • Career exploration workshops
  • Employment assistance

EXCEL – Work Readiness Program

Our EXCEL program supports current and former foster youth ages 16 to 24 to develop the skills they need to obtain and maintain employment plus develop long-term career goals with four easy steps.

  1. Interview, enrollment & assessments
  2. Attend career readiness classes WE PAY THE STUDENT! Flexible scheduling is available.
  3. Internships & job shadowing opportunities
  4. Employment training placement & college enrollment assistance
