Career & Technical Education Programs

Learn and Earn to Achieve Potential (LEAP)

Serving youth county-wide, LEAP is a secondary bridging program which provides youth with 6 – 8 weeks of academic skill remediation, work readiness and life skill development as well as college and career exploration and preparation.

Following the bridging courses, youth then receive support as they transition into their first year of post-secondary training/education.

  • Between the ages of 16 – 25
  • Any of the following:
    • Involved in foster or juvenile justice systems, or
    • Experiencing homelessness, or
    • Residents in transitional housing units
  • One-on-one support
  • Work-based learning
  • College/University/CTE enrollment assistance
  • College tours
  • Career exploration workshops
  • Employment assistance

EXCEL Work Readiness Program

Our EXCEL program supports justice-impacted youth ages 16 to 24 to develop the skills they need to obtain and maintain employment.

Additionally, we aim to develop long-term career goals with these four easy steps:

  • Between the ages of 16 – 24
  • Current or former justice-impacted youth
  • San Diego County resident
  1. Interview, enrollment & assessments
  2. Attend career readiness classes. WE PAY THE STUDENT! Flexible scheduling is available.
  3. Internships & job shadowing opportunities
  4. Employment training placement & college enrollment assistance
