On October 25, SBCS was honored to receive the inaugural “Inspire & Enable Award” including $5,000, from The San Diego Foundation during a virtual event. Our President and CEO Kathie Lembo accepted the award on behalf of SBCS, recognizing the hard work and commitment of our staff in her comments.

The San Diego Foundation created the Inspire and Enable Award to recognize “a nonprofit organization that has enabled community solutions to improve the quality of life in the San Diego region.”

“Your 50 years of dedication to enabling communities through the implementation of programs supporting the well-being and prosperity of San Diego children, youth, and families is to be commended,” said San Diego Foundation President & CEO Mark A. Stuart. “We are honored to recognize SBCS for its extraordinary impact on the lives of those in the San Diego community – and beyond.”

This award will help SBCS continue to strengthen the most vulnerable communities. We thank the San Diego Foundation for their continued support of our work and their leadership in San Diego.
